Types of Schengen Visas

  • Tourist Visa - This visa is available for foreign visitors who plan to travel to India for sightseeing, visiting family or friends, or are interested in joining a yoga or meditation retreat.
  • Medical Visa - The Medical Visa grants travelers from certain countries multiple entries into India to complete medical treatment. The visa is valid for 60 days from the date of first arrival and can be used to enter the country up to three times.
  • Medical Officer Visa - Relatives accompanying a patient who holds an Indian Medical Visa can apply for a Medical Officer Visa.
  • Business Visa - This visa is for travelers who wish to visit India for business purposes. The business visa is valid for one year and grants the holder multiple residence permits that can last up to 180 days each.
  • Emergency X-Misc Visa - This particular visa is applicable to travelers who do not fall under the categories described above but urgently need a visa to leave their country.

  4. Proof of purchase of round-trip airfare, proof of hotel booking, and itinerary while in India.
  5. Scan the front page of the passport to show the photo and personal data.

    General Questions

    How long does the visa process take?
    It normally takes a minimum of 7 calendar days to process an India visa application, counting from the completion of the documents.
    No, it does not. India visa holders are still subject to immigration checks and the visa does not guarantee you entry into the country.
    Yes. But if you wish to keep your originals, legalized documents must be provided to the Embassy. Please check your checklist to know what original documents you need to submit. However, the Original passport must be submitted at the time of application.
