KITAP Spouse

KITAP Spouse

Who is it for and what is it good for?

If you are applying to marry an Indonesian citizen, are married and have an active KITAS Pasangan (Temporary Residence Permit for Spouses), then it may be time to upgrade your visa to a KITAP Pasangan.

The difference between KITAP and KITAS is longevity, KITAS has a validity period of 1 year, while KITAP has a validity period of 5 years so this type of visa is much more attractive than a spouse KITAS with the same sponsor, without a break, at least 2 years.

The main benefit of the obvious upgrade is the validity of the visa. Instead of having to go through the process every year, the Spouse KITAP lasts for 5 years. Once the 5 years are up, you can reapply.

Steps to obtain a Spouse KITAP

  1. Submit a Spouse KITAP application to your local immigration office.
  2. Attend a biometric and fingerprinting session.
  3. Wait for approval of the process from the Immigration Office, the Directorate General of Immigration, and the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
  4. Completion of KITAP with E-KITAP along with Multiple Entry re-entry permit.
