Repatriation Visa (KITAS)
Who is it for and what are the benefits?
Repatriation KITAS (Repatriation Visa) is a temporary residence permit used for 1 very specific situation: For Indonesian citizens who have changed their nationality to another nationality.
Therefore, the main purpose of this visa is to regain Indonesian citizenship.
The validation of this visa is 1 year and can be extended annually for a maximum of 6 months. Repatriation KITAS holders can also obtain a KITAP (Repatriation permanent residence permit) valid for 5 years after having a KITAS valid for only one year. They can choose to extend their KITAS or obtain KITAP after one year of KITAS.
If the applicant wishes to extend their KITAS, they can consider the Repatriation KITAP (Repatriation Permanent Residence Permit) which has a 5-year validity period.

- Letter of revocation of ID card
- Citizenship renunciation letter from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Indonesian Embassy
- Current residence permit stamp with a minimum validity of 30 days - Onshore (Change of Status)
- Letter of no objection to change of status from current sponsor (if required) - Onshore (Change of Status)
