Who is it for and what are the benefits?

The Spousal Sponsorship KITAS is the Visa you are looking for if you are a foreigner married to an Indonesian Citizen. There are two options available; 1KITAS Sponsored Spouse (Kartu izin Tinggak Terbatas) which has a validity of one year & 2. KITAP (Kartu izin Tinggal Tetap) Sponsored Spouse which has a validity of 5 years.
By obtaining a Spouse Sponsored Visa there are many privileges, including:
- Validity to stay in Indonesia for up to 5 years
- Indonesian ID card (Kartu Tenda Penduduk)
- Ability to obtain a driver's license, open a bank account, apply for loans and credit cards
- Eligibility to become an Indonesian Citizen
- Eligibility to work or be able to start your own business as a sole trader without additional applications for work permits
- Eligibility for joint ownership of property with your spouse
- In addition, you will receive various other documentation including: Multiple Entry, Indonesian KTP and SKLD National Police Card
How to Get a Spousal Sponsorship KITAS
- Prepare Documents - Provide all KITAS-related documentation and we will verify to ensure a successful application.
- Document Submission - All documentation will be uploaded to the online immigration system. Once the visa is authorized, the applicant will receive an E-Visa which they will need to print out.
- Entry into Indonesia using E-Visa - The applicant can now enter Indonesia using the E-Visa.
- Biometric Session - Upon arrival in Indonesia, the applicant must undergo biometrics where; they take a profile photo and fingerprints.
- KITAS Issuance - KITAS (Residence Permit) will be issued and given to the applicant within 3 days.
- Re-register your KITAS - Within 14 days of the KITAS issuance, you must register at the civil department, where you will get a SKSKPS (Surat Keterangan Susunan Keluarga Penduduk Sementara) and STM (Surat Keterangan Polisi).

- Passport with a minimum validity of 18 months
- Photographs of 3 cm x 4 cm in size, 2 sheets of red background
- Marriage Certificate (Akta Nikah)
- Identity Card (KTP) of Indonesian Spouse
- Family Card (KK) of Indonesian spouse
- Indonesian spouse's birth certificate
- Current Account of the Indonesian spouse with a minimum balance of Rp. 20,000,000
- Certificate of No Obstacles (CNI) if married outside Indonesia
- Domicile letter from sub-district (urban village office) or domicile letter from building management

General Questions
What if my marriage ends in divorce?
If your marriage lasted less than 10 years, you must apply for a new sponsor to the Immigration Office within 60 days to maintain your Spouse Visa.
If your marriage lasted more than 10 years and you have a KITAP, divorce will no longer affect your residency.
Can I apply for a spouse's KITAP directly?
If your sponsor is your spouse, you must have been married for at least two years before you can apply for Spouse KITAP.
Do you have to be above a certain age to apply for this Visa?
You do not need to be a certain age to apply for this visa. There is a common understanding that you must be 55 years old, however this is not true.
