Who is it for and what are the benefits?

If you already have a KITAS/KITAP such as a Spouse KITAS/KITAP and are offered a job in Indonesia, your only option is not just to get a Work KITAS/KITAP, you can consider getting a Work Permit Only.

A Work Permit Only is not a visa, but rather a work permit and can be applied to a pre-existing visa such as a Spouse KITAS.

This type of permit is beneficial as it allows the holder to maintain their sponsorship but have the ability to earn an income. Please be aware, as it is a work permit, you will have to pay DPKK to the government.

The reality is that you are more likely to keep your spouse than your employer, which is why this option is becoming increasingly popular, especially for those using the Spouse KITAP.

Requirements

  • Color scan of expatriate passport with at least 4 blank pages still available with a minimum validity period of 18 months and scan copy of identity page and cover of foreigner passport with a minimum validity period of 12 months (identity page)
  • Expatriate photo with red background, jpeg format
  • Vaccination Certificate of complete dose
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the expatriate
  • Graduation degree certificate (academic background)
  • Reference Letter from previous employer
  • Expatriate address details (with domicile letter)
  • Health insurance
  • Current KITAS/KITAP
  • Valid KITAS/KITAP stamp
  • Scan copy of KITAS/KITAP guarantor's ID card
  • Scan copy of family card/KK of KITAS/KITAP guarantor

    General Questions

    Do I need to pay DPKK funds if I get a work permit only?
    Yes, you do. If you are working in Indonesia, you will need to pay the mandatory DPKK fund of $100 per month for the duration of the permit.
    It can be up to 12 months, depending on the employment contract.
    This is not a visa, it only allows the holder to work and generate income. Your visa rules and regulations still apply.
