Jakarta, KORANTRANSAKSI.com – A total of 11 Indonesian citizens were arrested by Malaysian authorities at a border checkpoint for violating immigration regulations. As reported by VnExpress, the arrests were carried out by the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS).

In addition to the Indonesians, two Singaporean citizens and one Egyptian national were also detained in the operation. Authorities stated that the arrests took place at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) in Johor Bahru earlier this week.

The individuals were found to have entered the area without official permission and were unable to present valid travel documents during inspection. Malaysian authorities also reminded the public not to engage in illegal immigration practices, including transporting or providing shelter to undocumented migrants. Malaysia is known for strictly enforcing its immigration laws.

Violations such as illegal entry or overstaying can result in fines of up to 10,000 Malaysian ringgit (approximately IDR 42.7 million), imprisonment of up to five years, and caning. This case once again highlights the importance of complying with international travel regulations, particularly regarding official documents and proper entry procedures into another country.
