Indonesia Deports Three Chinese Nationals for Visa Fraud
Indonesia’s immigration authorities have deported three Chinese nationals after discovering they manipulated sponsor details and submitted fake documents to secure their visas.
The individuals, identified as YJ, CN, and LJ, entered the country using pre-investment visit visas (C12) and business visas (C1 and C2). However, an official investigation revealed that these travel documents were obtained through fraudulent means.
Deported and Blacklisted from Indonesia
"They were repatriated via Juanda International Airport on China Southern Airlines flight CZ8138 from Surabaya to Guangzhou," stated Agus Winarto, Head of the Surabaya Immigration Office, on Friday.
Agus explained that the trio violated Indonesian immigration laws by abusing their stay permits and making false statements on their visa applications. On top of being deported, all three individuals have been blacklisted and banned from re-entering Indonesia for the next five years.
How the Visa Scams Were Uncovered
The immigration violations came to light when officers noticed irregularities in the foreigners' paperwork and digital records. While the three Chinese citizens entered on single-entry visit visas meant for setting up local investments, field checks proved otherwise.
Investigators uncovered several red flags during the application review:
Fake Sponsor Details:
The sponsor information on the application documents did not match official immigration records.
Forged Paperwork:
The application files for YJ and CN featured identical stamp-duty serial numbers, proving systematic document manipulation.
Fake Business Intentions:
Field investigations confirmed that the group had no real plans to invest or conduct business in Indonesia.
Zero Tolerance for Immigration Violations
Following directives from Immigration Director General Hendarsam Marantoko, the Surabaya Special Class I Immigration Office safely escorted the violators out of the country.
Agus emphasized that this strict action reflects the agency's ongoing commitment to protecting national sovereignty. "We will not tolerate foreign nationals who attempt to violate Indonesian law," he warned.
