
Bekasi Immigration Deports 78 Foreign Nationals Caught in "Operation Wirawaspada"
Bekasi, KORANTRANSAKSI.com – The Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office of Bekasi has carried out phased enforcement actions against 78 Foreign Nationals (WNA) apprehended during "Operation Wirawaspada" on April 8, 2026. Pursuant to Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, the sanctions applied to these individuals include deportation and placement on the entry-prohibited list (blacklisting).
The detailed breakdown of the foreign nationals is as follows:
- 76 Chinese nationals
- 1 Vietnamese national
- 1 Malaysian national
The violation committed was working while using a residence permit that did not match its intended purpose.
Deportation Phases
The deportation process was conducted in several stages:
- April 20, 2026: The first batch of 14 foreign nationals was deported on a flight to Guangzhou, China.
- April 23, 2026: The second batch involved the deportation of 11 foreign nationals to Guangzhou, China, and 1 national to Hanoi, Vietnam.
- April 28, 2026: The third batch saw 23 foreign nationals deported to Guangzhou, China.
The remaining individuals will be processed in accordance with applicable regulations.
Official Statements
The Head of the Bekasi Immigration Office, Anggi Wicaksono, explained:
"We are committed to continuously increasing the supervision of the presence and activities of foreign nationals to maintain order and national sovereignty, particularly in the Bekasi area. We also urge the public to play an active role by reporting any suspicious activities involving foreigners in their surroundings."
Previously, the Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, emphasized that strict supervision is a non-negotiable commitment.
"We continue to push for ease of service, but ease does not mean leniency. The door is open for those who provide benefits and closed to those who harm the country," he asserted.
