Jakarta, KORANTRANSAKSI.com – Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas), Agus Andrianto, officially inaugurated and administered the oath of office to Hendarsam Marantoko as the new Director General (Dirjen) of Immigration, replacing Acting Director General Yuldi Yusman.

The oath-taking ceremony was led by Minister Agus Andrianto at the Jusuf Adiwinata Hall of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections in Jakarta. Agus read the oath of office, which was followed by Hendarsam, as well as Iwan Santoso, who was also appointed as Expert Staff for Public Services and Legal Reform.

“You have taken the oath before me. Therefore, I hereby officially appoint you to the positions stated in the decree that has been read. May you always receive guidance from Almighty God in carrying out your duties. Thank you,” said Agus.

Agus further emphasized that the trust bestowed upon them carries responsibilities beyond merely performing administrative duties. “The mandate you assume today should not only be about carrying out your responsibilities but also about becoming role models in professionalism and work ethics,” he stated.

He also delivered a philosophical message to all officials, encouraging them to see every moment as a new opportunity to create meaningful impact rather than being burdened by routine.

“Every moment is new, and what we live is the remainder of our journey. May the remaining path we have be beneficial to others. Hopefully, in the time we have left together, we are not just existing, but truly living,” he remarked.

According to Agus, all officials must move beyond the shadows of the past and look forward with a clear purpose—being meaningful to others. “You have reached the peak of your positions, but your direction moving forward will determine how meaningful your presence is for the institution, society, the nation, and the state,” he said.

Agus expressed hope that under the leadership of the new Director General of Immigration, the Ministry’s 15 Action Programs would serve as a guideline in developing and optimizing immigration policies and programs.

“Hopefully, under your leadership, Immigration will continue to improve its services to the public, become a stronger institution, and serve as a role model for others,” he added.

Additionally, Agus stressed that amid rapidly changing global dynamics, the Ministry can no longer rely on outdated approaches. Strengthening internal cohesion and cross-functional collaboration has become essential.

“I expect all personnel within the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections to maintain unity, strengthen teamwork, and enhance collaboration and communication, both internally and externally,” he concluded. (ZIK/TIM)
