KPK Still Gathering Evidence of Immigration’s Involvement in RPTKA Case
Jakarta, KORANTRANSAKSI.com – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still collecting information regarding the possible involvement of Immigration authorities in an alleged extortion case targeting foreign workers related to the processing of Foreign Worker Utilization Plans (RPTKA) within the Ministry of Manpower.
“We are currently gathering information on this matter, as RPTKA is indeed closely related to foreign workers,” said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu.
Asep further explained that Immigration’s connection to foreign workers in the RPTKA process lies in visa matters. “Foreign workers are also linked to their visas—whether they hold work visas, visit visas, and so on. This is something we can verify. We must ensure that their visas are appropriate and not inconsistent,” he stated.
Previously, on June 5, 2025, KPK announced the identities of eight suspects in the extortion case related to RPTKA processing at the Ministry of Manpower. They are civil servants at the ministry: Suhartono, Haryanto, Wisnu Pramono, Devi Anggraeni, Gatot Widiartono, Putri Citra Wahyoe, Jamal Shodiqin, and Alfa Eshad.
According to KPK, between 2019 and 2024—during the tenure of Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah—the eight individuals allegedly collected around Rp 53.7 billion through extortion in the RPTKA process. KPK explained that RPTKA is a mandatory requirement for foreign workers to be employed in Indonesia. Without an approved RPTKA, the issuance of work and stay permits would be delayed, resulting in fines of Rp 1 million per day for foreign workers. As a result, applicants were allegedly forced to pay money to the suspects.
Additionally, KPK revealed that the extortion practice in RPTKA processing is suspected to have begun during the tenure of Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) as Minister of Manpower and Transmigration (2009–2014), continued under Hanif Dhakiri (2014–2019), and persisted during Ida Fauziyah’s term (2019–2024).
KPK has detained all eight suspects, with the first group of four detained on July 17, 2025, and the second group on July 24, 2025. On October 29, 2025, KPK announced an additional suspect in the case: Hery Sudarmanto, who served as Secretary-General of the Ministry of Manpower during Hanif Dhakiri’s tenure. (TIM)
