Badung, KORANTRANSAKSI.com – The Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, in collaboration with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, successfully uncovered a clandestine laboratory for drug production allegedly operated by Russian nationals in Gianyar, Bali.

The operation was the result of a joint effort conducted from Thursday night (March 5, 2026) into the early hours of Friday (March 6, 2026), during which two Russian nationals identified by their initials ST (30) and NT (29) were apprehended for their suspected involvement in the laboratory’s operations.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, stated that the success of this operation reflects strong inter-agency cooperation in combating transnational crime.

“This operation is clear evidence of the synergy between Immigration, BNN, and Customs in safeguarding Indonesia, particularly Bali, from illegal activities involving foreign nationals, especially those linked to international drug networks,” said Bugie.

Following up on this information, the Inteldakim team conducted immigration data tracing and field surveillance. Investigation results on February 5, 2026, revealed that the registered address provided by NT in Ungasan, Badung Regency, did not match the actual situation.

Based on these findings, the joint team formulated an enforcement strategy and carried out operations on Thursday (March 5, 2026) at 11:30 PM WITA at two separate locations in Sukawati, Gianyar Regency.

At the first location, Villa Renas Kubu, officers secured ST along with several pieces of evidence, including a Russian passport, a bag containing evidence, and containers filled with chemical liquids suspected to be raw materials for drug production.

At the second location, The Tetamian Bali, officers arrested NT and discovered chemical liquids stored inside a rented white Toyota Agya vehicle. Authorities also found a passport suspected to be fake under the name Kseniia Kozina, allegedly used by NT to rent the vehicle and villa.

Further investigation led the joint team to Villa De Bale Marcapada in Saba, Blahbatuh, Gianyar, at 12:45 AM WITA.

At this site, officers discovered a clandestine laboratory believed to be used for drug production, consisting of two rooms designated as production areas, complete with jerry cans containing chemical substances.

Bugie Kurniawan emphasized that Immigration authorities will proceed with the case in accordance with applicable immigration laws. “In addition to the narcotics-related criminal process handled by BNN, from an immigration perspective we will also take firm action regarding suspected violations such as the use of a fake passport and potential misuse of residence permits,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, expressed appreciation to all teams involved in uncovering the case.

“We extend our highest appreciation to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office team for their professionalism, responsiveness, and integrity in supporting this operation. The synergy between Immigration, BNN, and Customs is a key factor in protecting Bali from transnational crime threats, including drug trafficking involving foreign nationals,” she said.

She also emphasized that Immigration authorities in Bali will continue strengthening supervision over the presence and activities of foreign nationals.

“Bali Immigration is committed to enhancing inter-agency coordination and strengthening immigration oversight to ensure public safety and maintain Bali’s reputation as a safe and orderly international destination,” Felucia Sengky Ratna concluded. (TA/TIM)
